The problem

Most event problems are not technical problems. They are handoff problems.

Most event problems are not technical problems. They are handoff problems. The AV company blames the staging company, the staging company blames the venue, and the person who has to stand up in front of six hundred people at 9am is left holding it.

Deep South Productions removes the handoffs. We design the technical scope, supply the equipment out of our own inventory, staff the crew with our own people, move it on our own trucks, and run it on show day. One company, one point of contact, one bill — from the site survey to the last case on the truck.

We produce corporate meetings and general sessions, galas and awards nights, brand activations, conferences, private events, grand openings, and public celebrations. Some in ballrooms. Some in parking lots that become venues for a weekend.

Planning and technical design

Planning and technical design

Site survey, load-in and load-out planning, power requirements, sightline and coverage study, plots for audio, lighting, video and staging, and a schedule built around the venue's rules instead of fighting them.

Audio

Audio

d&b audiotechnik SL-series line array for large rooms and outdoor builds, right-sized systems for breakouts and ballrooms, DiGiCo consoles, wireless microphones and podiums, and engineers who treat speech intelligibility as seriously as a band mix. A keynote nobody can understand in row 20 is a failed event.

Lighting

Lighting

Key light for presenters and panels, color and texture for awards and gala rooms, uplighting, and full concert rigs when the evening turns into a show. Tyler GT box truss and ground support for rooms without rigging points.

LED video

LED video

Our LED runs 3.9mm–5.9mm pitch — fine enough for close viewing in a ballroom, bright enough for daylight outdoors. Plus projection, presentation switching, playback, camera and IMAG, confidence monitors, and content handling for the person who hands you a deck at 7:55am.

Staging and scenic

Staging and scenic

Decking, risers, ramps, ADA access, skirting, pipe and drape, podiums, and mobile stages when the event lives outside — a 2022 Stageline SL320 and an Apex 3224 in our fleet, plus partner access to a larger deck.

Rigging

Rigging

We own rigging equipment and coordinate the full rigging scope for your event. Our crews self-perform limited, low-risk applications; for structural work, arena rigging and anything with elevated risk, we bring in qualified rigging specialists and manage them inside the same plan. You still deal with one company.

Crew and on-site production management

Crew and on-site production management

Audio and lighting engineers, video and LED techs, stagehands, riggers, and a production manager on your show from the first walkthrough to load-out. Show calling, run-of-show, and the quiet work of keeping a schedule honest.

Logistics and site services

Logistics and site services

Our own semis, box trucks, flatbeds, step deck and RGN trailers, so your gear is not sitting in someone else's queue. Generators and distribution for sites without house power, and event cooling — Portacool units and misting fans — for the months when Gulf Coast heat is the real production risk. Restroom and shower trailers, hand-washing stations and stand-up heaters are our own inventory; tenting is partner-coordinated, and we say so upfront. We also run custom branded tour trucking and hold an insurable warehouse for storage between dates.

Right-sizing

We size the event to the event.

We own heavy outdoor inventory. Festival-grade PA, mobile stages, generators, truss by the truckload. That inventory is why we can build a main stage in a field. It is not what we roll into a hotel ballroom for a 250-person awards dinner.

Right-sizing is a discipline, not a discount. Small corporate work has its own rhythm: tight load-in windows, freight elevators, carpet you can't scuff, a rehearsal at 6am and a room flip by noon. We plan those events as their own thing — a small, senior crew, gear packaged for the room, and a production manager who knows where the hour actually goes.

Ballroom general session seating and staging

If you're wondering whether a company that builds festival main stages will take your general session seriously, the answer is yes. Whether it's a 20,000-person capacity show or a corporate meeting for 200 people, each event is equally important. Our DSP team members deliver the same level of dedication and enthusiasm no matter how large or small your event is.

Common questions

FAQ

What does an event production company actually handle?

The full technical scope: designing the audio, lighting, video and staging, supplying the equipment, providing and supervising the crew, moving everything, running the show and striking it. Venue contracts, catering and guest management stay with you or your planner. We're comfortable either leading the technical side or plugging into an existing team.

How much does corporate event production cost?

It depends on room size, audience count, number of days, and how much of the technical scope belongs to the venue. A single-room general session is a very different budget than a multi-day conference with breakouts and a gala. Send the date, venue and headcount and you'll get an itemized quote.

Can you work in a hotel ballroom or convention center, or only outdoors?

Both. We build festival main stages and we build ballroom AV. Indoor corporate work gets a crew and a gear package sized for the room, including venue rules on load-in, rigging points and labor.

Do you handle rigging?

We own rigging equipment and coordinate the entire rigging scope. Our crews self-perform limited, low-risk applications, and we bring in qualified specialists for structural and arena-scale work. In rooms without certified points, ground support is often the better answer — and we own the truss to do it.

Do you provide the crew, or do we hire labor separately?

We provide the crew — engineers, techs, stagehands and a production manager, from our own staff and a vetted freelance bench. You aren't sourcing labor separately or hoping the house crew has done this before.

How far in advance should we book?

As early as you can, especially in spring and fall conference season and for anything requiring a mobile stage. That said, short-notice problem solving is a large share of what we do. Call regardless.

Can we rent equipment without your crew?

For production companies, venues and promoters, yes — equipment packages on a business-to-business basis, usually alongside services. See Equipment Rental.
